Social Dinner

Participants of the European Academy of Religion’s Ninth Annual Conference are invited to sign up for the Social Dinner on 2 July, an evening conceived as a highlight of the conference’s social program. The dinner will take place in the evocative Aula Chiesa at Luiss University’s Viale Romania
campus. The buffet-style dinner is limited to approximately 350 participants and available by reservation only. The costs of the dinner are offered at a reduced rate to ensure that the event is as accessible as possible to participants. Early booking is strongly recommended to secure a place at this exclusive event.

Women Scholars’ Networking Lunch

Women participating the in the European Academy of Religion’s Ninth Annual Conference are invited to join the Women Scholars’ Networking Lunch, a moment dedicated for exchange, mentoring and professional networking among scholars of religion. The lunch offers an interdisciplinary forum to discuss academic pathways, career choices and challenges encountered at different stages of scholarly life. The Women Scholars’ Networking Lunch will take place on July 1 and July 3, 2026, and those who choose to participate will be offered lunch boxes upon signing up for the event. Participants standing at various stages of their academic careers will have the possibility of sharing practical experiences and insights, offering insights on research trajectories, teaching, publishing and balancing research and personal commitments. The informal setting is designed to encourage open conversation, peer support and building professional connections among scholars from around the world.

Cultural Itineraries

The European Academy of Religion is pleased to present to conference participants a selection of sites of particular historical, artistic, and spiritual significance in the city of Rome.
These locations, often outside the main tourist itineraries, offer exceptional insight into the cultural and religious richness of the city. Their proximity to the conference venue makes them easily accessible and provides a meaningful itinerary through art, history, and religious traditions within the urban context of Rome.

Mausoleum of Santa Costanza and the Catacomb Complex of Sant’Agnese
One of the most significant examples of early Christian art in Rome, the complex preserves remarkable 4th-century mosaics and represents a key transition between Roman culture and the origins of Christianity.

Catacombs of Priscilla
One of the most important catacomb complexes of ancient Christian Rome, known for its early Christian frescoes, including one of the earliest known depictions of the Virgin Mary. The site provides essential insight into the history of early Christian communities and funerary

Villa Torlonia Museums
